Technophobe's Cryptic Cartoon Conundrums (Picture Heavy.)
[info]technophobe1975
So, as I have a few days off work, I thought that I would do something a little different for this weeks Trailer Trash Tuesday.
Below is a long series of pictures taken from a variety of animated films - all you have to do is tell me which films that they are from! You have exactly one week (until next Tuesday) to give me your answers, which will be screened.
And would it be possible for you to pimp this out to as many of your friends list as you can please as I would like as many as possible to have a go? Many thanks :)

Well done!
You were not only the first to respond, but you also scored a very impressive 28/57.

Kicking myself over Land Before Time, I watched that film constantly as a wee one!

hmmm lets see
1. Little Mermaid
2. Sleeping Beauty
3. Beauty and the beast
4. Pinocchio
5. 101 Dalmatians.
8. Alice in Wonderland
12. The Sword in the Stone
13. Rio
16. The road to El Dorado
18. Shark's Tale
21. Dumbo
22. Robin Hood
24. Hercules
25. Lady and The Tramp

38. Anastasia
39. Basil The Great Mouse Detective
47. Over The Hedge
48. Valliant
50. Kung Fu Panda
53. Gnomeo and Juliet
56. Pocahontas

Well done - you scored a most excellent 24/57!

Keeping in mind that I couldn't name all that I recognized (but have seen), and I recognized a few I never saw at all:

1. The Little Mermaid (Flotsam and Jetsam)

3. Beauty & the Beast

10. The Lord of the Rings

15. Emperor's New Clothes

21. Dumbo (Pink Elephants on Parade)

22. Robin Hood (Sir Hiss)

23. Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

25. Lady & the Tramp (We are Siamese if you please.)

30. The Land Before Time

37. Cinderella

56. Pocahontas

You are obviously an old skool Disney fan :)
Your score is 10/57, but the only one you guessed wrongly was no.15.

That's cool, because I never saw that one. I was just guessing based on what I thought I saw go by one afternoon of scrolling through cable channels. ^___^

Come to think of it, the animation styles are very similar!
You were one of the few people to get no. 56 (Pocahantas) correct, and if it were possible to dish out bonus points for remembering the We Are Siamese song from Lady & The Tramp, I would have done so :)

1. Little Mermaid
4. Pinocchio
5. The Rescuers?
8. Alice in Wonderland
21. Dumbo
23. Who Framed Roger Rabbit
25. Lady and the Tramp
30. Land Before Time
32. Cloudy with a Side of Meatballs
37. Cinderella
39. Anastasia

Well done - you were one of the few people to guess no. 39 correctly (surely a disembodied singing head should not be hard to forget??)
Your overall score is 10/57, but only one of your guesses (no.5) was actually wrong :)

Thank you for being brave enough to take part!

1. Little Mermaid
4. Pinocchio
5. 101 Dalmatians
8. Alice In Wonderland
11. Igor
14. Bolt
16. Road To El Dorado
17. Kiki's Delivery Service [?]
18. Shark Tale
19. Nightmare Before Christmas [?]
21. Dumbo
22. Robin Hood
23. Who Framed Roger Rabbit [?]
24. Hercules
25. Lady and the Tramp
30. Land Before Time
31. Area 51
32. Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs [?]

44. Flushed Away [?]
45. Atlantis
47. Over The Hedge
49. Star Wars: The Clone Wars
54. Home on the Range
56. The Aristocats [?]

Other ones look VERY familiar, but I just can't place them.

You have scored a mightily impressive 25/57, and were one of a select few to get no. 34 (The Iron Giant) correct, which is one of my favourite animated films :)

I'm not much good at cartoons, but here are some wild guesses:

3. Beauty & The Beast
4. Pinnochio
5. The Aristocats

28. Howl's Moving Castle
30. Ice Age
42. Treasure Planet

I'll pimp this over at my journal

Firstly, many thanks both for the pimpage and the awesome LJ gift :)

You scored a more than creditable 10 points, even though you fell into my cunning trap with no.22, who is in fact Sir Hiss from Robin Hood - the only real difference between the two characters being that one wears a hat!

This is a cool challenge!

Here are my guesses:

1. The Little Mermaid
2. Sleeping Beauty
3. Beauty and the Beast
4. Pinocchio
5. 101 Dalmatians

56. Pocahontas
57. Meet the Robinsons

Oh. My. Lordy.
YOU GOT ALL OF THEM RIGHT!
EVEN MY PURPOSELY OBSCURE ONES!
Well, colour me mightily impressed - how on earth did you manage it?
You are a more than worthy winner :)

After looking at other people's answers for this quiz challenge in the comments, I am impressed with your friends' knowledge of film animation history and/or their detective skills at tracking down the source for each screencap.

All credit should go to the Google Image reverse search engine for helping me to find the source for all 57 screencaps.

THANK YOU, GOOGLE!!!

Okay, I have to admit I kind of find that cheating.

First, I went through and did the ones I knew right off, then checked my hunches via regular google search. Then used the same search to place guesses, which served me pretty well.

Doing a mechanical "let google do it for you"...is kind of...lame to me. Feh, I don't feel so bad for not knowing them all now.

Clearly, I have done something wrong in your eyes. I sincerely apologize to you for using outside resources like Google, family/friends, and Tineye to track down the source for the screencaps.

I am so sorry.

I think you misunderstand me, or made a somewhat incorrect statement in your other comment?

I make nothing of using outside resources in general. Your comment there had made it look like you simply dumped the images into a reverse search engine instead of thinking about them at all, do you see how it sounded? Like riding a bike through a marathon, defeating the purpose. So if you didn't mean that, your comment of "all credit should go to" said something you might not have meant it to.

Uh-oh, I'm an idiot. I just re-read my original comment and realized that it could be misinterpreted by others.

I used the Google Image reverse search engine to verify that all my answers were correct.

My original comment was directed at [info]technophobe1975. He knows me well enough to know that I have a love for animated films/series and that I see a lot of them. So I automatically assumed he would know that I would recognize or make a well-educated guess on the screencaps.

I sounded slightly hostile in my first comment toward you. You didn't deserve that. I'm sincerely sorry about my tone in that first comment.

Ah, I see. Verification makes much more sense.

All good here, I am just glad you were able to see what I thought I was reading instead. I was worried I'd started something bad with my cranky lament.

I must have let that squirrel get to me. Couldn't find him anywhere.

That being said, your memory is a formidable weapon. ;) That is a handy image tool you've got there, too, so I am glad to have learned about it.

Thought I'd take a stab at the other ones. I'm pretty sure they are wrong, but I might get lucky on some of them:

You scored an excellent 33/57 and was one of only two people to correctly identify several of the pictures :)

I hate to leave this on the heels of your distress. *hugs and thoughts*

But as it's late Monday where I am, I have to turn in what I've got. Some of these were tricky! One bit of photographic memory, one bit of staring into space, and one bit of "okay, now it's personal" later, I think I fared okay:

I can't wait to see what the ones I missed are from. That tourist squirrel is driving me nuts!

A truly incredible score of 47/57 there, amazing stuff which leaves you in a very close second place.
All will be revealed later, but the "Tourist Squirrel" is in fact a reporter and is to be found in the film Hoodwinked. The picture I used is taken from this scene;

You just sneaked in under the wire ;)
You (and your helpers) score a mighty fine 45/57 and take a very respectable third place overall - well done!

Oh good. I would have hated to miss the deadline after you went to all the effort.

Wooo! 3rd! I'm actually really proud of that and am actively ignoring vorvolaka calling me sad last week. She's just jealous of my amazing-ness. ;)

I shall share the good news with the rest of the Brain Trust (after I go kick my self for the ones I got wrong but should have known).

The answers are now up, so let the kicking commence!

*grabs ares kicking boots*

Oh and the ones I got help with were 7, 10, 20, 26, 35, 36, 39, 48 and 52. The other three should get the credit for those.

Let them share in your glory!
Apart from whoever gave you the answers to numbers 10 and 26 ;)

Oh, I couldn't do that. I'll just let them enjoy the glory for a while. ;)

To be fair, I think I only got The Lady and the Tramp one.

Your role was a small, yet vital one :)
